Staffing agencies provide a “pair of hands”, leaving the client to sort through résumés, interview candidates, and direct them in detail. QTP provides results. Our clients are not looking for warm bodies, they are looking for measurable progress, whether it be an agency approval, a product data management system, an outsourcing process, production test equipment, or a straightforward design review for testability or manfacturability.

Our partners and associates have experience across the technology spectrum. We have delivered products generating hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue. Products have been delivered for the defense, industrial, utility, and biomedical industries, among others. Products typically present a complex mix of analog and digital electronics, firmware, PC applications or Linux-based web applications, mechanical engineering and electronic packaging, plastics, etc.
QTP will engage at any stage of a company’s life. However, the most benefit from our services will be realized by small and midsized firms with products in the lab that are not yet generating revenue. The client may have other, more mature products in the market, but has something in the lab that urgently needs to be readied for sale.
We engage anywhere in the USA and Canada. The most attractive engagements will have a global component, significant outsourcing, and major suppliers or customers outside North America.
We will consider almost any industry or market. However, we do focus most heavily on companies positioned for growth from globalization.
Our focus is on high technology. We put hard goods on the shelf. Retail, apparel, food and beverage are generally outside our domain, however there may be infrastructure projects in these industries where QTP can provide value.
Our partners and associates are self-starters who have continually improved their skills. Each one of us commits to an engagement and succeeds only when the engagement succeeds.
All our engagements are fixed price. The client does not experience the “long tail” of continued billing near the end of the engagement.
There are several reasons. Part of what QTP provides is certainty, and certainty of cost is a big part of that. By providing a fixed price, QTP clients get cost certainty.
There are more subtle reasons. QTP staff is available at all times during the engagement. If there is a problem or question, we don’t wants clients wondering if a phone call is billable or not. We are always available.
The same reasoning applies to status updates: we are willing to meet as frequently as required to ensure that the engagement goes smoothly and that everyone involved is up to date. Clients don’t need to worry about running up the bill.
We prefer to engage in small and medium opportunities, from $100,000 up to about $5 million. Smaller opportunities will be considered as part of a long-range client plan. Larger opportunities are often best implemented in-house over a multi-year period, and the outsourcing model is not as applicable.
